Fernando Ortega
As the last decade of the 20th century opened, the Christian music landscape burgeoning with contemporary pop sounds was in a season of full on cultivation.
Enter young composer/pianist, Fernando Ortega, classically trained and musically complex, writing distinctively earthy songs, hymns and spirituals that defied genre boundaries. Deftly entwining thoughtful folk melodies with Celtic, bluegrass, classical and Latin American influences, he introduced something rare and valuable.
